Lady Panthers Return to Action at Akiah McMillan Invitational
COLUMBIA, SC - The Claflin University men's and women's cross-country teams returned to action, Saturday morning when the teams took part in the 2023 Akiah McMillan Invitational. Both teams continued to look impressive with the Panthers placing 13
th at the meet with 333 points while the Lady Panthers placed 14
th with 348 points.
The Panthers had a solid overall day in the men's 8K run. Claflin sophomore Jakarriez Sanders led the way when he placed 63
rd with a 29:43.8 in the men's 8K run while fellow sophomore Reginald Gore placed 69th with a 30:06.1.
The Lady Panthers had an equally impressive day in the women's 6K run. Junior
Madison McDonald led the way with a 33
rd place finish when she ran a 26:08.8. Senior
Jonnica Fuller added an 80
th place finish with a 32:01.0 in the event.
