ORANGEBURG, SC - The Claflin Lady Panthers (1-12, 1-9 CIAA) could not quite get out of their own way when the team took a hard-fought four-set loss to the Winston-Salem State Rams (8-8, 5-3 CIAA), Wednesday evening. The Lady Panthers played in some great sports throughout the match, but the team struggled with attack errors in the 16-25, 13-25, 25-23, and 15-25 loss.
The Lady Panthers had some bright spots throughout the match. As a team, the Lady Panthers broke out for 31 kills in the match. However, the team committed 39 attacks in the match. Claflin senior outside hitter
Taylin Johnson returned to action with a team-high nine kills. Claflin freshman middle blocker
Anaya Wofford added three blocks as well.
With the loss, the Lady Panthers fall to 1-12 overall and 1-9 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play. The team will return to action this weekend when they take part in the second CIAA Volleyball Round Up.
