Lady Panthers Place Fourth at 2024 CIAA Women's Cross Country Championship Meet
SALEM, VA - The Claflin Lady Panthers closed out the cross-country season in grand fashion, Thursday afternoon. When the dust settled, the Lady Panthers finished fourth at the 2024 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Cross-Country Meet. The fourth-place finish is the best for the Lady Panthers since joining the CIAA and the team's highest finish in a conference championship meet since 2015 when the Lady Panthers placed 4
th at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Women's Cross-Country Championship Meet.
As a team, the Lady Panthers finished the meet with 130 points behind champion Fayetteville State (28), Winston-Salem State (96), and Lincoln (Pa.) (113). The effort was led by several terrific individual performances at the meet. As she's done throughout her career, Claflin senior
Madison McDonald led the way once again. She place ninth in the women's 5K run with a 19:56.5. With the ninth-place finish, she earns CIAA All-Conference honors for the third time in her collegiate career. Claflin freshman
Nia Singleton placed 16
th with a 20:48.8 while sophomore
Jasmine Young placed 25
th with a 22:07.2.
