Panthers Offense Powers 83-69 Win Over Elizabeth City State
ORANGEBURG, SC - The Claflin Panthers (9-5, 3-1 CIAA) kept their winning streak alive when the team took an 83-69 win over the Elizabeth City State Vikings (6-5, 0-3 CIAA), Thursday. The Panthers took the win behind a great offensive night to claim the win.
As a team, the Panthers put on a smoking hot shooting effort. The Panthers shot 55.4% (31-of-56) from the floor while holding the Vikings to shooting just 38.6% (27-of-70). Claflin senior guard
Damerius Wash led the way when he scored a team-high 13 points with five rebounds and a steal. Fellow senior guard
John Whitehead, III, added 11 points with five rebounds.
With the win, the Panthers improve to 9-5 overall and 3-1 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play. The team will return to action, Saturday, when they host the Virginia State Trojans.
