AUGUSTA, GA - The Claflin Lady Panthers (0-2) gave a strong effort, but some costly errors proved to be too much for the team to overcome in a four-set road loss to the Paine Lions (1-2), Monday evening. There was no shortage of effort for the Lady Panthers, but the team could not get the answers they needed in the 25-22, 20-25, 12-25, and 24-26 loss.
As a team, the Lady Panthers struggled in the match. The team finished the match with 27 errors along with 12 receiving errors. Claflin senior outside hitter
Keymara Coleman led the team's offensive attack with six kills in the match. Sophomore outside hitter
Mya Sumter added six kills as well. Junior setter
Siri Davis and middle hitter
Kaitlin Ham both totaled three service aces each as well.
With the loss, the Lady Panthers fall to 0-2 on the season. The team will return to action on Wednesday, September 18
th when the team opens Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play against the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls.
