HARDEEVILLE, SC - After a bit of a break, the Claflin Panthers cross country team returned to action in a big way with some great performances at the 18th Annual Sand Shark Invitational hosted by the University of South Carolina Beaufort. Claflin sophomore Graysen Manning led the Panthers to a great day with a fourth-place finish at the meet.

Manning highlighted a terrific overall performance for the Panthers in the men's 8K run. He finished the meet in 25:13.7 to lead all NCAA Division II runners at the meet. Only runners from NCAA Division I Bethune-Cookman and South Carolina outpaced Manning at the meet. Claflin senior Reginald Gore had the second-best performance for the Panthers when he ran a 26:59.0. Fellow senior Jakarriez Sanders added a 29:00.1.

The Panthers will return to action next Saturday when the team takes part in the Upstate Invite at the Milliken Research Park. For more information Claflin cross country, contact the Claflin University Office of Athletics Media Relations at (803) 535-5548 or log on to www.athletics.claflin.edu.
