Connell Named CIAA Offensive Player of the Week; Watts CIAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

Aryanna Connell was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week while freshman
Abigail Watts was named the CIAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.
Conference weekly honors are nothing new for Connell who has been named the CIAA Volleyball Rookie of the Week twice this season. This marks the first time that Connell has ever been named the CIAA Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. The honor come after she finished the week with 43 total kills, including recording 20 kills against Virginia Union and 18 kills against Johnson C. Smith. In addition to the points scored, she also added 12 digs against Virginia Union and 10 digs against Johnson C. Smith. With the effort, she earned double-doubles in both matches.
The CIAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honor was the first for Watts. She brought home the honor after recording 48 total digs during the week. She had 17 digs against Virginia Union along with 11 digs at NCAA Division I South Carolina State and 19 digs against Johnson C. Smith. In addition to her defensive efforts, Watts also added four service aces for the week, including three against Virginia Union.
