Connell Named CIAA Volleyball Rookie of the Year

CHARLOTTE, NC – Claflin freshman outside hitter Aryanna Connell was named the Food Lion Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Rookie of the Week, Tuesday morning. She took home the honor after a terrific offensive performance for the team.
 
Connell earned her first conference honor for her efficient offensive effort. For the week, she scored a combined 25 kills with just nine attack errors. She opened the week with seven kills against NCAA Division I foe, South Carolina State. She also added three digs and two blocks (none solo) in that match. She broke out in her next match with 18 kills and two service aces at Fort Valley State.
 
The Lady Panthers will be back in action tonight, when the team heads to Tuskegee, Alabama to take on the Tuskegee Golden Tigers.
