MELBOURNE, FL - The Claflin Panthers (6-6) ended the year on a down note when the team took a 74-62 loss to the Florida Tech Panthers (6-4), Saturday evening. The Panthers put on a solid game, but the team could quite get the points they needed in the tough loss.
The Panthers took the loss in spite of a solid overall game. As a team, the Panthers shot 37.7% (26-of-69) in the game. The Panthers also struggled with an uncharacteristic 15 turnovers in the game. Claflin junior guard
Horace Jacques, Jr. led the way for the Panthers with 20 points in the game. He also added an assist, two blocked shots, and a steal. Fellow junior
Ramere Draper added 16 points with four assists and six rebounds.
With the loss, the Panthers fall to 6-6 overall. The team won't compete again until the new year when the team hosts the Bowie State Bulldogs in January.
