McCollum Graduates from Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute
ORANGEBURG, SC - Claflin University Associate Director of Athletics/Compliance Director
Dionne McCollum took another step in her leadership journey when she graduated from the Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute last week. The accomplishment caps another great feat for the Claflin administrator on her mission to be a better leader for Claflin student-athletes.
The Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute is a valued tool in the development of leaders in athletics administration. The institute provides tailored programming in strategical mapping and planning their careers in athletics administration. The institute provides professional developmental programming over the course of a calendar year, including one-week programs at the beginning and the conclusion of the year. The institute provides a wealth of resources for participants to benefit from as they strive to become leaders in athletics administration. From from in-person sessions, continuing education resources, and a well-connected alumni group, participants not only enhance and master skill sets pertinent to their success in their current roles, they also explore and plan to achieve future career aspirations.
Graduating from the institute marks another terrific milestone for McCollum who also earned the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) Division II Rising Star Award in May. The award recognizes compliance professionals who are emerging leaders within the profession. She was honored at the annual NAAC convention on June 9, 2025.
McCollum is in her third year as the associate athletic director/compliance director at Claflin University.
