Harris Named CIAA Volleyball Rookie of the Week
CHARLOTTE, NC - The youth movement continues to lead the way for the Claflin Panthers and honors are coming in. Claflin freshman outside hitter
Zaniya Harris was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Rookie of the Week. This marks the second straight week that a Claflin student-athlete brought home the honor.
She brought home the honor after terrific week on the court for the team. For the week, Harris totaled 32 kills. She opened the week with 17 kills,14 digs, and two solo blocks at Tuskegee. She followed the effort with 15 kills against Livingstone.
The Lady Panthers will return to action, Friday, when the team begins play in the 2025 CIAA Volleyball Round Up. The team will open against Virginia State and follow that match with a match against Bluefield State.
