ORANGEBURG, SC - The Claflin Panthers (9-7, 6-1 CIAA) got back to their winning ways when the team took a 67-53 win over the Livingstone Blue Bears (7-10, 4-4 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. Claflin sophomore forward
Alex Atkinson, Jr. put on a dominating interior performance to lead the Panthers to the win.
The Panthers' interior put on a dominating effort to power the team to the win. As a team, the Panthers shot 42.4% (25-of-59) from the floor, including scoring 32 points in the paint. Claflin sophomore forward
Alex Atkinson led the way with a dominating 16 points with 20 rebounds in the game. The effort keyed the Panthers' win. Junior guard
Horace Jacques, Jr. added 15 points with five rebounds as well.
With the win, the Panthers improve to 9-7 overall and 6-1 in CIAA play. The team will return to action, Wednesday, when they host the Winston-Salem State Rams.
