PEACHTREE CITY, GA - The Claflin Panthers (3-2) played a great overall game to claim a 4-2 road win over the Clark Atlanta Panthers (3-2), Sunday afternoon. After allowing a pair of early runs to Clark Atlanta, the Panthers answered with four straight scores to claim their third straight victory.
The Panthers combined some timely offense with some great defense to secure the win. As a team, Claflin totaled eight hits in the game, including three extra base hits. Claflin junior catcher Devin Whitehead led the way with a two-for-three batting performance that included a home run and three runs batted in (RBI). Freshman outfielder L.J. Johnson went two-for-two as well.

Wylan Sheffield (1-0) got the start and threw all seven innings for the Panthers. He finished the game with just two runs allowed and four strikeouts.
With the win, the Panthers improve to 3-2 overall. The team will return to action, Thursday, when the team heads to Due West, South Carolina to take on the Erskine Flying Fleet.
