Panthers Battle in a 10-2 Loss at Georgia Southwestern

AMERICUS, GA - The Claflin Panthers (3-18, 0-13 PBC) put up a great effort, but some costly efforts hindered the team in a 10-2 loss to the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes (16-13, 9-4 PBC). The Panthers played a solid game, but the team's six errors proved costly in the loss.

As a team, the Panthers recorded four hits in the game. Claflin sophomore Devyn Campbell went one-for-three at the plate with two runs scored. Junior outfielder Torian Bunkley added a one-for-one batting effort as well.

Claflin freshman Wylan Sheffield (1-6) got the start and took the pitching loss. Taylor Barnes came in for five innings.

With the loss, the Panthers fall to 3-18 overall and 0-13 in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play. The team will return to action, tomorrow when they close out the weekend series with a doubleheader.
