Coverson-Springs, Knuckles Named to USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field All-America Team
NEW ORLEANS, LA - After some spectacular efforts on the track this season, a pair of Claflin Lady Panthers were named to the 2026 United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II All-America Team, Tuesday afternoon. Claflin sophomore hurdler
Morgan Coverson-Springs was a first team All-America selection while junior
Jhnyia Knuckles earned second team All-America honors.
The USTFCCCA awards first team All-America honors to finishers 1-8 in individual events at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet. Second team All-America honors are awarded to finishers 9-16 in individual events.
Coverson-Springs earned her spot on the team with her terrific performance in the women's 100m hurdles. She finished fifth in the event with a personal best 13.38 in the event. Her fifth place finish was the best finish for a Lady Panther at the national championship meet in over five years.
Knuckles earned her second team All-America status after a 12
th place finish in the women's triple jump. She recorded a 39' 10" (12.14m) leap. The mark was one of the best results of her career. With the honor Knuckles becomes the first Lady Panther field athlete to earn All-America status since 2022 when former Lady Panther
Zaria Nelson earned the honor.
