2021: Simone had a tremendous impact for the Lady Panthers in 2021. She was the top overall player for the team as a leader both on offense and defense. She finished the season as the team’s leader with 194 kills and she also added 38 service aces to rank sixth in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). She had a career-high 15 kills at Brewton-Parker with a career-high seven service aces against Lincoln (Pa.). Defensively, she led the Lady Panthers with 273 digs and she added 24.0 total blocks (eight solo).  
 
Personal: Simone joined the Lady Panthers in the fall of 2021. She came to Claflin University after attending Delaware State University where she played two seasons. She is a graduate of Colonial Forge High School where she was a four-year letterwinner. She also competed for Stealth Volleyball Club and the Core Volleyball Club AAU teams. She is a Biology major and she is the daughter of Janell and Lewis Newell.
