Biography

2022: Eric played in 17 games with eight starts for the Panthers. He finished the season with a .278 batting average that included 10 hits in 36 at-bats. Among the hits were a double, a triple, and a home run. He also recorded nine runs scored with six runs batted in (RBI). He also added a pair of stolen bases. Defensively, he recorded a .969 fielding percentage with  29 putouts in 32 total chances with two assists.
 
2021: Eric saw time in nine games with five starts for the Panthers. He finished the season with at double in 15 at-bats. He also added an RBI. He also added a stolen base.
 
Personal: Eric joined the Panthers in the fall of 2020. He came to Claflin as a graduate of Unity Reed High School where he had a great career. He earned all-region honors at the outfield position and he was named his team MVP from 2017-2020. He was also a two-sport athlete at Unity Reed where he also competed in track & field. He was also a star in the classroom where he earned a spot on the A/B Honor Roll from 2016-2020. He is a Computer Engineering major and he is the son of Rebecca and Eric Sledge, Sr.
