Biography

2023-24: Zion made an immediate impact on the Panthers’ interior. He led the team with 171 total rebounds with 13 blocked shots. He also totaled 257 points and averaged 9.9 points per game.  He ws named the Food Lion CIAA Defensive Player of the Week for his performance at Virginia State where he recorded a double-double 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. He also had three blocked shots against Benedict.
 
Personal: Zion joined the Panthers in the fall of 2023. He came to Claflin after attending Marshalltown Community College. He is a graduate of George Ranch High School where he was a first team all-conference selection. He also competed in both soccer and football. He is a Mass Communication major, and he is the son of Temitope Obanla.
