Mr. Terrence Jenkins

Terrence “Tee” Jenkins was named the interim women's basketball head coach in December of 2021.  This will be his first head coaching stint after a long career at Claflin Univerity. He is in his 14th season with the Claflin University athletics.Jenkins has played a vital role in the turnaround of the Panther program.  He served as a student assistant then graduate assistant before moving into his current role as an interim head coach at Claflin.
 
A standout student-athlete for two seasons at Claflin, Jenkins received many academic awards and garnished several athletic achievements.  In 2001-2002, he received an athletic academic award presented to the men’s basketball player with the highest GPA.  Jenkins also received the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. prestigious David M. Dupree Athletic Award which is presented to the student athlete with the highest GPA in the Southeast. In addition, he was the team co-captain and named the 2002-2003 team’s Most Valuable Player. 
 
Prior to his playing days at Claflin, Jenkins played two seasons at Denmark Technical College in Denmark, S.C. where he received his associate degree in 2001.  While at Denmark Tech., he earned Rookie of the Year honors and was a two-time team captain and Most Valuable Player.  He was also named to the Dean’s List 1999-2001.
 
Jenkins is a 2005 graduate of Claflin University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in education.  In December of 2006, he earned a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from South Carolina State University.  He attended Blackville-Hilda High School, in Blackville S.C. where he was a basketball standout as well as played football and soccer.
 
He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc. and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
