Ms. Nanyamka Moore

Nanyamka Moore is in her second season as the assistant women's basketball coach with the Claflin University Lady Panthers.  She is in her fourth season with the program as she served two seasons as a graduate assistant coach.  Moore will be responsible for the skill development of guards and forwards.  In addition, she will handle the weight training, basketball operations, scouting, team defensive structure and recruiting.

Prior to coming to Claflin, she coached at University Prep High School in Detroit, Mich.  At University Prep she assisted with skill development, weight lifting and agility and college recruiting.  She also was instrumental in helping the team capture a district championship.
 
Two years prior to coaching at University Prep, Moore coached at her high school alma mater, Ferndale High School, where she is currently the all-time leading scorer and was an All-State track runner.  She has also spent time coaching AAU in Indiana for the Spiece Gym Rats and Wolfpack.  In addition, she has done some personal training for young girls in the state of Indiana.
 
In 2009-2010, Moore was as student-coach at her alma mater, Indiana-University Purdue-University in Fort Wayne, Ind. (IPFW).  She played four seasons for the IPFW women’s basketball team, garnishing many accolades.  In her sophomore and junior seasons, Moore led the team in steals, averaging 4.5 steals per game. During her junior and senior seasons, the Detroit, Mich. native was team captain and a member of the Student-Athlete Leadership Team (SALT).  In addition she was her team’s top rebounding guard during her sophomore and senior seasons.
 
After college, Moore played one season for four total seasons with the Flint Lady Monarchs Women's Semi Professional Basketball Team (Formerly Flint Lady Flames), under the tutelage of Claflin current head women’s basketball coach Deont’a McChester.  She played one season under the Lady Flames umbrella and spent three seasons in the Lady Monarchs uniform. During her tenure with the Lady Flames/Lady Monarchs, she was co-captain for three years and helped the team win three Northeast Region Championships, one of which she was the Northeast Region Tournament MVP.
 
Moore received her bachelor’s degree in Mass Media and Public Communications with a minor in Media Production from IPFW in 2010 and her MBA in Business Administration from Claflin in May 2016.
