2024-25: Tacoya had a great start to the season, but it was cut short after an injury. She had played in all 11 games before the season. She totaled 38 points, and she was averaging 3.5 points per game. She also added 36 total rebounds with nine steals. She scored a career-high eight points twice before her injury.
 
Personal: Tacoya joined the Lady Panthers in the fall of 2024. She came to Claflin as a graduate of Bluffton High School where she had a great career. She was a two-time Region Player of the Year, and she was named to the 2024 Carolina Classic All-Star Team. She was a four-time all-state, two-time Region Co-Player of the Year, a four-time team MVP, and she holds the school record for points in a game and she is the all-time leading scorer. She also competed in track & field. She was also an academic star as she earned a spot in the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, and she graduated with distinction. She is a Criminal Justice major, and she is the daughter of Kenya Barkley and Terrence Heyward.
