Mr. Akeem Boneparte

Akeem Boneparte begins his sixth year as the Athletic Academic Advisor/Academic Support Counselor with the Claflin University Athletics Department.  Boneparte has been a part of the Claflin athletics department for more than a decade and a member of the Claflin family for over 15 years as a student and employee.
 
Throughout his time with Claflin athletics, Boneparte has served in the capacity of Facilities and Ticket Manager (2011-2014) as well as two stints as the Assistant Volleyball Coach (2008-2013 and 2019-present).  In addition to his academic duties, he still serves as the primary ticket manager and as the Advisor of the Timothy J. Autry Theta Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma National Athlete Honor Society.
 
Boneparte began his employment at Claflin during his undergraduate matriculation.  His staff employment outside of athletics included stints in the Career Development Office as the Coordinator of Service Learning and Community Service (2009-2010), the Coordinator of Service Learning and Community Service with AmeriCorps Vista (2007-2009) and as an Office Assistant with the Office of Career Development (2006-2007).
 
No stranger to hard work, in addition to his duties in Claflin Athletics, Boneparte serves as the Office Manager with the Alonzo Middleton Allstate Insurance Agency in Orangeburg, S.C.  He spent nine years (2009-2018) as the Front Desk/Rental Coordinator with YMCA in Orangeburg where he was named the Employee of the Year in 2013.
 
Boneparte is a proud member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., where he served as the State Director for South Carolina and Eastern Georgia as well as the Head State Director to the Gulf Coast Executive Board. He is currently the Chief of Staff for the Gulf Coast Regional and the Regional Intake Coordinator. Boneparte is currently the Registrar for the Iota Phi Theta National Conclave, a position he has held since 2017.

Boneparte is a proud member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., where he served as the State Director for South Carolina and Eastern Georgia as well as the Head State Director to the Gulf Coast Executive Board. He is currently the Chief of Staff for the Gulf Coast Regional and the Regional Intake Coordinator. Boneparte has served as the registrar for National Conclave since 2017. He is also a member of National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) where is a member of the Ethics Committee.
 
He is very active in his community serving on the Executive Board for the Orangeburg area of the National Kidney Foundation (2007-2010) and as a St. Jude Foundation Walk Executive Team Member 2018 and 2019.  In 2005 he was a member of the Orangeburg All-American Team that won the National Civic League All-America City Award.
 
In 2007, Boneparte received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Claflin and is currently pursuing a Master of Counseling Education from South Carolina State University.
