Claflin University Basketball Teams Host Albany State in SIAC Action

Albany, Ga.--The Claflin University men's and women's basketball teams will host Albany State University (ASU) in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) matchup, tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 12. The Lady Panthers will get things underway at 5:30 p.m. followed immediately by the Panther men at approximately 7:30 p.m.  Both games will be played at the Tullis Arena on the campus of Claflin University.  It will be military day in Tullis Arena.  All active and retired military personnel in uniform or with a valid ID will be admitted for $5.
 
The Claflin women, who enters the game with a 12-10 overall record and 5-8 in the SIAC, will be looking to avenge and earlier season lost to Albany State.  The Lady Panthers fell to the Lady Rams 65-52 in Albany.  Jaquanna Davis finished the game with a double-double, 14 points-12 rebounds to lead Claflin in the loss.  The Claflin men, who defeated Morehouse 86-69, on Monday (Feb. 9) enters with an 12-12 overall record and 9-6 in the SIAC.  The Panthers defeated Albany State 58-69, on January 26 in Albany.  Ryan McNeill-Moses recorded a double-double, 18 points-10 rebounds.
 
The ASU women enter the contest with a 12-9 overall record and 11-3 SIAC bill into the contest, while the Golden Rams men enters tomorrow's contest with an 8-14 overall record and 4-10 in the SIAC. 
   
Tomorrow's contests are the first of three straight home games for the Claflin basketball teams.  Both teams will host Fort Valley State on Saturday, Feb. 14 and will play their final home game on Monday, Feb. 16 when they host Paine College.
