Claflin Men Defeat Miles College for its Fifth Straight Win

Birmingham, Ala. – The Claflin University men's basketball team pushed its win streak to five with a 76-72 win over Miles College, 76-72, in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) matchup in at the Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Ala.
 
With the win the Panthers who improve to 9-4 overall and 4-1 in the SIAC.
 
Miles falls to 3-10 overall and 1-1 in the SIAC.
 
Ryan McNeill-Moses paced Claflin with 16 points.  Benjamin "Trey" Williams and Austin Lawton scored 14 points each while Trevor Dantzler and Jaleel Charles both came off the bench to score nine points apiece.
 
Miles was paced by Joshua Johnson with a game-high 20 points.  Joshua Samuels and Henrique Cistrunk scored 14 points each while Shaquille Cook dropped in 11 with six rebounds for the Golden Bears in the win.
 
The Panthers owned a seven point lead at the half, 35-28, and outrebounded the Golden Bears by one, 29-28.
 
Claflin will return home next Monday, Jan. 9 when they host LeMoyne-Owen in a SIAC match up.  Tip-off is set for approximately 7:30 p.m. in Tullis Arena on the campus of Claflin University.
