Claflin Basketball Coaches and Athletes Participates in CIAA Media Day

Charlotte, NC—The Claflin University head men's and women's basketball coaches, along with student-athletes from both teams, will participate in the 2019 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) virtual press conference Tuesday, Oct.1 in Charlotte, NC.

Virtual media day tips off the 2019-20 basketball season and begins a season-long celebration of 75 years of the CIAA Basketball Tournament, which takes place February 24-29, 2020 at Bojangles' Coliseum and Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC.

Stan Lewter, the play-by-play voice of the CIAA, will serve as host for the event that will feature head coaches and student-athletes from men's and women's basketball programs from the CIAA providing an outlook on the upcoming season.   The event will be streamed live on the CIAA Sports Network beginning at 8:45 a.m. with each school getting a 15-minute focus. Claflin coaches and players scheduled to be interviewed at approximately 11:00 am.

The virtual press conference will open with the announcement of the men's and women's preseason honors and team rankings.

On Monday, September 30, players, coaches, and CIAA staff took part in a community service activity with Samaritan's Feet.
