Claflin Athletics Spotlight Series

Throughout the Fall 2020, the Claflin University Department of Athletics will spotlight a member of its coaching and athletics staff. This week's spotlight is on Courtney Perkins.
 
Courtney Perkins enters her first season as the head athletics trainer with the Claflin University department of athletics. 
 
Perkins, who recently earned her master's degree in Advanced Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina (May 2020), served as the graduate assistant trainer last season with the Panthers program.
 
A native of Marion, S.C., Perkins earned her Bachelor's in Exercise Science with a concentration in athletic training from the University of North Carolina in 2018.
 
As an undergraduate, she worked with the Tar Heel football, softball, tennis, volleyball, and track and field teams. Perkins continued to advance her skills as a graduate assistant at South Carolina, working with the Gamecock Track and Field teams in her first year before moving to Claflin for her second year.
 
Perkins is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association and is a member of the South Carolina Athletic Training Association. She is also a member of the South Carolina Coaches Association and a certified instructor in CPR.
 
Perkins is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina.
