ORANGEBURG, SC - The Claflin Lady Panthers (13-17) got their fifth straight win in a dramatic fashion, Wednesday. Claflin freshman first base
Mikah Fluellen hit a walk off double to give the Lady Panthers a 10-9 win over the Paine Lions (14-17).
The Lady Panthers headed into the seventh inning with a three-run effort, trailing, 6-9. The team was able to get four runs across the plate. Junior outfielder
MeAuhre Lewis led things off with a two-RBI double that was followed by Fluellen's two-RBI double that sealed the win.
Lewis led the way for the Lady Panthers. She went three-for-four at the plate with two triples, a double, two runs scored, and five runs batted in (RBI). Sophomore third base
Zecariya Fenwick went three-for-four at the plate with a triple and a run scored. Fluellen added three RBI of her own.
Freshman
Katelyn Grissom (3-4) got the pitching win. She came in for a full inning with no runs allowed. Junior
Breyanna Collins got the start. She threw six innings and she finished with a strikeout.
With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 13-17 on the season. The two teams would go on to complete the doubleheader later in the day.
