ORANGEBURG, SC - The Claflin Lady Panthers (1-13, 1-5 CIAA) struggled in a three-set loss to the Fayetteville State Broncos (9-4, 5-1 CIAA). The Lady Panthers had a hard time finding an offensive grove in the 13-25, 18-25, and 15-25 loss.
Though the Lady Panthers had a tough time getting points onto the scoreboard, the team was able to see some solid defensive efforts. Junior defensive specialist
Jadah Rasool recorded 11 digs in the match. The Lady Panthers were able to record seven total blocks in the match. Claflin freshman middle hitter
Nala Calvin recorded three total blocks (none solo) in the match while sophomore outside hitter
Anaya Wofford added two total blocks (none solo).
With the loss, the Lady Panthers fall to 1-13 overall and 1-5 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play. The team will return to action, Monday evening, when they host the Shaw Lady Bears.
