ORANGEBURG, SC - The Claflin Panthers (2-1) put on a dominating performance when the team took a 118-70 win over the South Carolina Christian Central Gladiators, Saturday afternoon. The Panther offense clicked on all cylinders in the dominating victory.
As a team, the Panthers put on a great performance to claim the win. The Panthers shot a scorching hot 65.7% (44-of-67) from the floor, including shooting 44.4% (12-of-27) from the three-point line. Claflin sophomore forward
Alex Atkinson led the way with a near double-double 18 points and nine rebounds with a blocked shot in the game. Junior guard
Ramere Draper added 15 points with four rebounds. Senior guard
Cristian Sanon added 13 points with five rebounds.
With the win, the Panthers improve to 2-1 to open the season. The Panthers will return to the road for their next competition. The team will head to Cleveland, Tennessee to take on the Lee Flames.
