CLEVELAND, TN - The Claflin Panthers (2-2) took their strong play on the road, but the team came up short in an 81-64 loss to the Lee (Tenn.) Flames (3-1), Tuesday. The loss came in spite of a solid overall effort by the Panthers.
As a team, the Panthers found points hard to come by in the loss. The Panthers shot just 41.0% (25-of-61) from the floor, but they were able to knock down seven three-pointers in the game. Claflin junior
Braylon Jackson came off the bench to lead the way for the Panthers with 15 points in the game. Sophomore forward
Alex Atkinson, Jr. continued his strong play this season with 10 points and two blocked shots. Junior guard
Horace Jacques, Jr. led the Panthers' rebounding effort with five in the game.
With the loss, the Panthers fall to 2-2 to start the season. The team will remain on the road for their next action when they head to Tampa, Florida to take on the Davenport Panthers in the opening game of the Tampa Thanksgiving Tournament.
