Morris Named Food Lion CIAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, NC - For the second week in a row, Claflin University senior guard Nya Morris was named the Food Lion Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Basketball Player of the Week. She earned the honor after an offensive explosion in the Lady Panthers' three games last week.
 
Last week, Morris put on three terrific scoring performances to lead the Lady Panthers to a pair of wins. For the week, she scored a combined 71 points in three games. The highlight of the week came when she scored a career-high 32 points in a win over Winston-Salem State. She also scored 25 points in a win at Johnson C. Smith.
 
The honor marks the second straight week that Morris has been named the conference player of the week. She is currently averaging 20.5 points per game with 472 total points to lead the CIAA. This week marks the third time this season that Morris has been named the Food Lion CIAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Morris and the Lady Panthers will be back in action, Wednesday, when the team hosts the Shaw Lady Bears.
