ORANGEBURG, SC - The Claflin Panthers (15-9, 8-5 CIAA) had all the right moves when the team took a 73-63 win over the Winston-Salem State Rams (3-19, 0-11 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. The Panthers put on a defensive showcase on their way to the win.
While the Panthers' offense didn't take its usual center stage position, the Claflin defense was front and center for the entire game. As a team, the Panthers held the Panthers to just 63 points, including just 22 first half points. The Panthers forced 16 turnovers. Claflin senior forward
John Whitehead, III, led the way in the win with 15 points, including hitting five three-pointers. Senior guard

Zion Obanla came off the bench for six points and six rebounds with a blocked shot.
