TUSKEGEE, AL - The Claflin Lady Panthers (0-7) staged a furious comeback effort but fell just short in a five-set road loss to the Tuskegee (5-1), Tuesday evening. After back-to-back losses in the first two sets of the match, the Lady Panthers staged a furious comeback to force a fifth set. Unfortunately, the team ended the evening with the 10-25, 23-25, 25-19, 28-26, and 10-15 loss.
The loss came despite one of the Lady Panthers' best offensive performances of the season. The Lady Panthers totaled 45 kills with eight service aces in the match. Claflin freshman outside hitter led the way for the team once again as she finished the match with a double-double 17 kills and 14 digs in the match. She also added a service ace as well. Fellow freshman
Zaniya Harris added an impressive double-double effort of her own with 16 kills and 11 digs. Senior setter
Siri Davis completed the trio with 19 assists and 16 digs. She also added three service aces and two kills.
With the loss, the Lady Panthers fall to 0-7. The team will return to action, Thursday, when the team begins Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play against the Livingstone College Blue Bears.
