CHARLOTTE, NC - The Claflin Lady Panthers (1-8, 1-1 CIAA) broke into the win column in a big way when the team took a four-set road win over the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls (1-4, 0-2 CIAA), Monday evening. The Lady Panthers combined for a balanced attack to take the 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, and 25-20 win.
The Lady Panthers put on a great overall effort to claim the win. The Lady Panthers finished the match with 36 kills and just 19 errors in the win. Claflin sophomore
Anaya Wofford led the way with 11 kills with four total blocks (two solo) in the match. Freshman middle hitter
Jamila Lewis added a great match as well with nine kills and three total blocks (one solo).
With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 1-8 overall and 1-1 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play. The team will return to action this weekend when they take part in the CIAA Volleyball Round Up.
