FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Claflin Lady Panthers (9-6, 5-4 CIAA) took a 57-45 road loss to the Fayetteville State Broncos (15-2, 9-1 CIAA), Thursday evening. The Lady Panthers put on a strong effort in their first road game in three weeks, but the team could not pull away with the win.
As a team, the Lady Panthers struggled to put points on the scoreboard. As a team, the Lady Panthers shot just 28.3% (15-of-53) from the floor with 15 shots made. Claflin senior forward
Ashari Lewis led the way for the team with 13 points in the game. Junior forward
Ryian Howard added 10 points in the game. Claflin sophomore center
Olivia Randolph continued to be a presence in the post with 10 rebounds, a block, and three steals.
With the loss, the Lady Panthers fall to 9-6 overall and 5-4 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play. The team will return home for their next action when they host the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls on Saturday.
