Biography
2023-24: HowVante continued to improve as a member of the Panthers. He played in 22 of the Panthers’ 27 games. He finished the season with 62 total rebounds and 11 blocked shots. His best game of the season came against Coker when he scored 10 points with three rebounds. He tied for a season-high six rebounds twice.
2022-23: HowVante stepped into a much larger role during the 2022-23 season. He responded in a big way with some great play. He played in 24 of the team’s 26 games with one start. He finished the season with 66 total rebounds and six blocks.
2021-22: HowVante had a solid freshman season for the Panthers. He played in 22 games with 10 starts. He finished the season with 35 points and 34 rebounds. He pulled in a career-high seven rebounds against Virginia State. He also totaled five blocks.
Personal: HowVante joined the Panthers in the fall of 2021. He came to Claflin University as a graduate of Wayne Country Day School where he led the team to a state championship, and he also competed in both track & field and football. He is a Human Performance & Recreation major, and he is the son of Lasean Hutcherson.
