Claflin Softball Split Non-conference Doubleheader with Stillman

Orangeburg, S.C.—The Claflin University softball team split a non-conference doubleheader with former Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opponent Stillman College, winning game one 7-2 and falling in game two, 8-5.
 
The Lady Panthers now record now sits at 15-14.
 
Stillman goes to 4-13.
 
Senior Chelsea Hall, who was named the SIAC Player of the Week, continued to be productive offensively for Claflin.  Hall finished the doubleheader with three runs, three hits, including a two-run homer in game two, along with three RBIs and three stolen bases.
 
Kayla Cato added one run, one hit and two RBIs in the win in game one.
 
KaShaira Givens had two hits and one run in game two and Saeviah Conyers came off the bench in game two to contribute one run off one hit.
 
Tiaria Norman, this week SIAC Pitcher of the Week, was picked up her eight win of the season.  Yemaya Rich was the losing pitcher of game two.
 
Bre Franklin led Stillman offensively on the day with three runs. 
 
Lauren Averette and Haleigh Junkin were the losing and winning pitchers, respectively for Stillman.
 
Claflin will return to SIAC play this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, March 25 and 26, when they travel to Fort Valley, Ga. to face the Lady Wildcats of Fort Valley State in a three-game series.
 
The Lady Panthers will return to Adden Street next Wednesday, March 29 when they host USC-Aiken in a non-conference doubleheader.
