Claflin University men’s 4x400 Relay Run Automatic Qualifying Time at the University of Mt. Olive Last Chance Meet

Mt. Olive, N.C. – In the final outdoor qualifying meet of the 2019 season, the Claflin University men's 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Domenic Samuel, Davion McKnight-Allen, Ashtin Knowles, and Derick St. Jean ran a 2019 Division II Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships automatic qualifying time of 3:08.76 last weekend, Saturday-Sunday, May 11-12 at the University of Mt. Olive Last Chance Meet.

Derick St. Jean, Davion McKnight-Allen, and Domenic Samuel all had solid performances individually at the meet.

St. Jean, who has already provisionally qualified in both the 400 meters and 200 meters led the Panthers finishing first in the 400 meters (46.84) and fourth in the 200 meters with the 19^th fastest time in the nation at 20.97.

McKnight-Allen who had also previously qualified in two events, ran a preliminary time of 20.82 in the 200 meters, which is the ninth fastest in the nation. McKnight-Allen won a silver in the 100 meters in a time of 10.36, which ranks him tied for 13^th in the nation.

Samuel became the third individual provisional qualifier, running a 47.73 in the 400 meters.

The final list of qualifiers will be released on Tuesday, May 14.
