Former Claflin Men’s Basketball Player Austin Lawton Signs Professional Overseas Contract

Orangeburg, S.C.  – Former Claflin University men's basketball standout and Eutawville, S.C. native Austin Lawton has signed a contract, Friday, July 26, 2019, to play professionally with Stichting Rotterdam Ondersteuning of the Dutch League Championship in Holland.
 
Lawton finished his four-year career at Claflin with 1,046 points (10.15 points per game), 651 rebounds (6.3 rebounds per game), 237 blocks (2.3 blocks per game) while shooting 56 percent from the field and 65 percent from the charity stripe.
 
During the 2015-16 campaign he ranked 8th in block shots per game and 9th in total blocks in the Nation.  Also, in 2016 he was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Defensive Player of the Year.
