Claflin Cross-Country Open 2019 Season at Winthrop/Adidas Invitational

Orangeburg, S.C. – After having its season opener delayed by one week due to weather associated with Hurricane Dorian, the Claflin University men's and women's cross-country teams will open the 2019 campaign at the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 14. The meet will be held at the Winthrop Coliseum and Farm, Winthrop University, Rock Hill, SC. Admission is free.

The men's portion of the meet get things underway with the 8K race at 9 a.m. followed by the women's 5K at approximately 9:45 a.m.

This year's meet consists of 15 men's teams and 11 women's teams, with two of those teams holding national rankings. Charlotte is ranked 8th in the Southeast Region and Charleston Southern, holds the 11th place in the Southeast Region.

Both Claflin teams will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 28 when they travel to Erskine, S.C. to participate in the Erskine College Invitational.
