ORANGEBURG, SC - There was no shortage of effort for the Claflin Lady Panthers (1-15), but the team could not find their offensive groove in a three-set loss to the Fort Valley State Wildcats (13-3). The Lady Panthers gave a solid defensive effort, but points were hard to come by in the 21-25, 12-25, and 12-25 loss.
While there were some tough spots for the Lady Panthers, the team was able to have some bright spots. The team finished the match with 38 digs. Three Claflin players recorded eight digs each in the match. Claflin senior setter
Siri Davis nearly pulled off a double-double with eight assists and eight digs. She also added a pair of service aces. Claflin freshman outside hitter
Aryanna Connell led the way for the team with seven kills.
With the loss, the Lady Panthers fall to 1-15 overall. The team will return to Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play when they take part in the second CIAA Volleyball Round Up this season.
