FORT VALLEY, GA - The Claflin Lady Panthers (0-6) put up another great effort, but the team fell short in a four-set loss to the Fort Valley State Wildcats (3-0). The team showed up with one of their best offensive performances of the season, the effort was not enough in the 13-25, 25-21, 21-25, and 22-25 loss.
The Lady Panthers put on a solid offensive game in the loss. As a team, the Lady Panthers totaled 43 kills in the match, the team's second-high kill total of the season. Claflin freshman outside hitter
Aryanna Connell led the way with 18 kills with two service aces in the match. Fellow freshman
Zaniya Harris added 15 kills with seven digs as well. Defensively, freshman Abigal Watts led the way with 17 digs. Senior setter
Siri Davis recorded a double-double with 20 assists with 13 digs in the match. She also added a service ace. Freshman setter
Nadia Embry added 16 assists with nine digs.
With the loss, the Lady Panthers fall to 0-6 on the season. The team will return to action next Tuesday when they head to Tuskegee, Alabama to take on the Tuskegee Golden Tigers.
