ORANGEBURG, SC - The Claflin Lady Panthers (0-8, 0-1 CIAA) opened Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play on a down note with a three-set loss to the Livingstone College Blue Bears (6-3, 1-0 CIAA). The Lady Panthers had some terrific stretches during the match, but the team could not overcome some offensive errors in the loss.
The Lady Panthers took the loss despite several bright spots. Claflin freshman outside hitter Zaniyah Harris led the way for the team with a team-high 15 kills in the match. Fellow freshman
Grayson Graham added eight kills of her own. Senior setter
Siri Davis had a great night of her own with four service aces and 20 assists.
With the loss, the Lady Panthers fall to 0-8 overall and 0-1 in CIAA play. The team will return to action, Monday, when they head to Charlotte, North Carolina to take on the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls.
