Covington, Wright Named to the 2019 All-CIAA Cheerleading Team

Charlotte, NC (January 14, 2019) – Claflin University senior cheerleaders Kendra Covington and MarTisha Wright has been named to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-CIAA Cheerleading Team. The team was selected by CIAA Cheerleading Coaches Association and announced by the conference office on Monday, Jan. 14.

Covington and Wright are among twenty-four standout student-athletes who have been selected for their leadership and athletic abilities contributing to the success of their respective institutions.

Covington, a four-year member of the Claflin University cheerleading team is a senior Human Performance and Recreation major from Monroe, N.C. Wright has been a member of the team for three seasons. She is a psychology major hailing from Jenkinsville, S.C.

The All-CIAA athletes will be recognized at Super Saturday of the CIAA Basketball Tournament on March 2, 2019 as part of the cheerleading exhibition.
