ELIZABETH CITY, NC - The Claflin Lady Panthers (6-1, 3-0 CIAA) extended their winning streak to six games when the team took a 60-47 road win over the Elizabeth City State Vikings (2-6, 0-3 CIAA), Monday evening. The Lady Panthers took the win behind another terrific defensive performance.
 
Once again, the Lady Panthers put on another great defensive effort in the game. The Lady Panthers held their opponents to shooting just 29.2% (14-of-48) from the floor with 21 turnovers in the game. The effort included allowing just 14 field goals made by their opponents and 11 Claflin steals.
 
On the offensive end of the court, the Lady Panthers had a solid showing of their own. Senior guard Ariel Lucas led the way with 15 points in the game while sophomore guard Mia Lewis came off the bench for 13 points. Fellow sophomore center Oliva Randolph led the Lady Panthers' rebounding efforts with five rebounds. She also added nine points, two steals and a blocked shot.  
 
With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 6-1 overall and remain a perfect 3-0 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play. The team will return to the road, Saturday, when they head to Cochran, Georgia to take on the Middle Georgia Knights.
