Lady Panthers Dominate for a 104-47 Win at Voorhees

DENMARK, SC - The Claflin Lady Panthers (3-1) put on a defensive showcase when the team took a dominating 104-47 road win over the Voorhees Lady Tigers. The Lady Panthers turned a stellar defensive showing into their largest win since 2024 when the Lady Panthers took a 108-40 win over the Paine Lions.

The Lady Panthers took the win behind some great performances at both ends of the court. Claflin forced 35 turnovers in the game while holding the Tigers to just 47 shot attempts and shooting 42.6% (20-of-47) from the floor. Powered by that defensive effort, the Lady Panthers were able to launch a balanced offensive attack that overwhelmed their opponents. Six Claflin players reached double-digit scoring in the game with freshman guard Makailah Davis leading the way. She finished the game with a career-high 16 points in the game. Sophomore guard Tyra Floyd and senior forward Ashari Lewis both added 15 points each. Sophomore guard Tacoya Heyward scored 14 points while freshman guard Mia Lewis added 11 points with five assists. Senior center Emaree Hinton rounded out the attack with 10 points and five rebounds.

With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 3-1 to start the season. The team will open Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play when they head to Bluefield. West Virginia to take on the Bluefield State Big Blue.
