Orangeburg, S.C. -- The Claflin University baseball team will take on Coker College Wednesday (Feb. 21) in the first of four-straight game at Mirmow Field.
 
First pitch is schedule for 3 p.m.
 
Claflin will enter the mid-week contest at 1-9 with the lone victory coming against Virginia State University 9-3 during the Panthers the last home stand.
 
Claflin dropped last week's three-game series to Eckerd College 3-0 in St. Petersburg, Fla. In the series, the Panthers scored 17 runs and collected 27 hits off 12 Eckerd pitchers. Enjoying a productive series were Darrell Langston, Grayland Fowler and Malik Brown. The trio combined for a .484 batting averaging that included 15 hits and two home runs.
 
Fowler led the way, hitting .461 followed by Langston at .421. Both are hitting over .300 for the season along with Johnathan Parnell II. Langston top the three with a .385 batting averaging that include team-highs in home runs at three and 11 RBIs. Parnell II is next in hitting at .333 followed by Fowler .300 for the season.
 
Coker will bring an 8-1 record to Orangeburg and riding a seven-game winning streak. The Cobras as a team is hitting .307 with 59 runs scored. Coker is led offensively by Brooks Estrada with a batting average of .4890 and Reilly Hall at .370 this season.
 
After the Coker game, Claflin will entertain Bluefield College (Va.) in a three-game series starting Friday at 4 p.m., followed by 1 p.m. games on Saturday and Sunday.
