ORANGEBURG, SC - The Claflin Lady Panthers (1-1) put on a show when the team took a dominating 98-28 win over the Morris (S.C.) Hornets (2-5), Saturday afternoon. The Lady Panthers took the win behind a dominating defensive effort that sealed the Homecoming victory.
 
The Lady Panthers put on a defensive showcase to claim the win. The Lady Panthers held their opponents to just 28 points in the game, including just four third quarter points. The team also held their opponents to shooting just 22.2% (10-of-45) from the floor. The Lady Panthers also forced 43 turnovers. Claflin senior forward Ashari Lewis led the way for the team with 22 points and three rebounds in the game with six steals. Freshman Makailah Davis added 17 points with five rebounds, two steals, and a block in the win. Fellow senior guard Ariel Lucas added 14 points, including hitting four three-pointers with five assists int eh game.
 
With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 1-1 on the season. The team will return to action, Tuesday, when they head to Spartanburg, South Carolina to take on the Converse Valkyries.
