James Guydon was a men’s basketball coach for the Claflin Panthers. He took the reins of the program in 1985 and he led the team to a 20-10 record in his first season and he earned the Post-Courier’s 1986 State College Basketball Coach of the Year honor. He led the Panthers led the Panthers to their first appearances in the NAIA National Championship Tournament in 1996 and 1997. During his career, he also served as the Director of the EIAC Post-Season Basketball Tournament. Guydon spent 17 years as head coach of the Panthers. Under his guidance, the Panthers won the EIAC Championship.
