Lou Golden had a terrific playing career with the Claflin Panthers. Not only was he an exceptional member of the Panthers football, but he was also equally impressive in track & field. He earned all-conference honors in both sports as well as earning NAIA All-American honorable mention.
 
Following his collegiate playing career, Golden went on to have a successful career as a high school coach where he competed in 11 state championship games with five state championships. He finished his career as the third winningest coach in South Carolina.
